Hammock Beach Resort Reviews

Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  And Palm Coast, Florida, is no exception.  We experienced multiple restaurants and resort amenities, so stay tuned for all the Hammock Beach Resort reviews.

Hammock Beach Resort Pool

April 2024 marked our 15th wedding anniversary, and we wanted a romantic getaway.

Hammock Beach Resort Golf Resort & Spa delivered on all fronts. For instance, this resort offers incredible food, spectacular views, comfy beds, and a friendly staff.

This massive beachside complex has a pool area that is basically a water park!

Hammock Beach Location

Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa is in Palm Coast, Florida, between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. It’s about an hour south of Jacksonville and an hour and twenty minutes from Orlando. Therefore, Daytona Beach (DAB) Airport will be the closest airport, about 30 miles away.

The Lodge Hotel

Firstly, we opted for The Lodge Hotel, the smaller beachside section of the resort proved to be a wise decision. For example, the conveniently located parking and readily available bell services for our luggage made our arrival a breeze, setting the tone for a relaxing stay.

The Lodge does have a quiet, dedicated pool, but the main pool area is the place to be.

Our room had everything we needed, including a fantastic oceanview balcony.

While the rooms at The Lodge may be a bit dated and in need of a refresh, I think they exude a certain charm that adds to the romantic atmosphere.

The bathroom could benefit from better lighting for practical purposes. But at the same time, the subdued room lighting perfectly complemented the romantic vibe I was seeking.

Lastly, the rooms at The Lodge are strategically located just above the Atlantic Grille Restaurant, offering a very convenient breakfast, lunch, or dinner option. So, you’ll never have to go far for a great meal.

Activities

Fantasy Pool Complex

Hours: 9am to dusk

The 91,000-square-foot Fantasy Pool Complex has a waterfall pool with a winding waterslide, multiple zero-entry pools, and a sandy beach pool. The pool area gets the highest marks on our Hammock Beach Resort reviews!

Hammock Beach Resort Sandy Beach Pool

It also has a heated adults-only pool right next to the Ocean Bar Cafe, which has one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten.

Hammock Beach Resort Lazy River

Secondly, this complex boasts one of the most oversized (32-person) hot tubs around. Plus, we can’t forget the lazy river!

I think the lazy river is more geared toward kids because it has too many water features that soak you to be relaxing for me.

Furthermore, pool chairs and cabanas can be reserved in advance for an extra fee. The chair rental fee was about $15 per person, and the cabanas range from $100-200, depending on the date. Check current prices and availability here.

Indoor Pool

Hours: 6am to 11pm

The spacious indoor pool is located next to the Fantasy Pool Complex. It not only has beautiful architecture but also plenty of space to stretch out. There are two hot tubs available that are pretty private. What’s more, they even have foosball and ping-pong to keep the kids (and adults) entertained.

Beach

The pink shell beach is definitely unique and was a little different than the white sand beaches I’m used to here in Panama City Beach. Also, swim at your own risk since there are a lot of large rocks and reef under the water at this beach access.

This beach is better for sunbathing and relaxing than for catching waves. Additionally, beach chairs and umbrellas are available to rent. Check rental prices and availability here.

Tennis

At the Hammock Beach Resort, you can find 8 hydro-grid clay tennis courts with views of the Intracostal Waterway. However, these are actually off resort property. So, you will need to drive about 3 miles down the road to their sister resort at Yacht Harbor Village. To book court time or private lessons click here.

Pickleball

Hammock Beach Resort Pickleball

Equally important, the Pickleball courts were recently built and are now open. Similarly, they are located off the property at Yacht Harbor Village next to the tennis courts.

They were very nice courts, but the tennis pro informed us there would be a $25 per day fee to participate in open play there.

Therefore, I recommend going to the Hammock Beach Community Center. It is not only closer to the resort but also free to play at. Another important note is that most people play here between 9am and noon.

Fitness Gym

Hours: 6am to 9pm

I personally didn’t see the Fitness Gym while at Hammock Beach Resort, but my husband rarely skips a workout. So, he found the gym to be a great size and had everything he needed for a good workout. Moreover, personal training sessions are available for an extra fee.

Hammock Beach also offers a range of Fitness Classes, which cost about $20 extra for resort guests. The class calendars are online, and you must sign up for a class in advance to guarantee your spot.

Kids Crew

Since we made this trip without our kids, I can’t give my personal opinion on this available amenity. However, I witnessed an evening program about the resort, and the kids looked like they were having fun.

The Kids Crew program is for kids ages 4-12. It offers a morning ($50) and evening ($55) option, each 4 hours long. The program provides lunch or dinner, crafts, and other fun activities.

Golf

Hammock Beach Golf Resort has two award-winning golf courses. Firstly, The Ocean course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, looks spectacular.

From our balcony at The Lodge, we could watch plenty of golfers play it.

Hammock Beach Resort Golf

Secondly, The Conservatory course was designed by Tom Watson and inspired by British links-style golf. Its look features more streams, waterfalls, and stonework.

Neither my husband nor I play much golf, so we were merely spectators. Still, you can’t help but appreciate the beauty of all the greens at Hammock Beach Resort.

Spa & Wellness

Lastly, I will discuss the Spa & Wellness Center. The Spa offers everything from spray tans and body wraps to massages and facials, mani-pedis, and even hair salon options. I will link their Spa Menu here.

Hammock Beach Resort Spa

All in all, we had many choices for our Spa experience. My husband decided on a deep tissue massage while I received a relaxing facial.

Above all, it was a calming start to our anniversary events. I highly recommend it!

Restaurants

Atlantic Grille

Hours: 7am to 10pm

First of all, the views at Atlantic Grille are worth the visit alone. But this award-winning restaurant also serves delicious food. While at Hammock Beach, we ate breakfast and dinner here and stopped by for a late-night Key Lime Pie craving.

For breakfast, they serve light options like avocado toast and parfaits, as well as heavier dishes like Chorizo Hash. I went with a heartier breakfast and it was yummy!

The dinner menu includes a mix of fresh seafood and protein from the land. Of course, we chose a couple of seafood options. So, I ended up with the Redfish, which had a very creamy sauce with great flavor.

We enjoyed most things we ate at this restaurant, but the service needed to be improved. Expect your meals to take a while, but you should enjoy the food and drinks. Also, I’d recommend making a reservation for dinner.

Stix Authentic Sushi

Hours: 5pm to 10pm

If you love sushi, like me, you must dine at Stix Authentic Sushi. First, we started with the fried dumplings served with a fantastic dipping sauce. Then, we ordered 2 rolls, the Arizona and Rainbow rolls, along with octopus. We loved the Arizona roll so much that we ordered a second.

The waiter was prompt and pleasant and helped us decide on our order. Stix uniquely offers to upgrade your soy sauce, so we tried the whiskey-barrel-aged. It was surprisingly good but not necessarily worth the $5 upcharge.

Not only was the service quick and friendly, but the sushi was excellent! In conclusion, I 100% recommend it, and no reservation is needed.

Delfino’s Italian Chophouse

Hours: 5pm to 10pm

Hands down, our favorite meal of the trip was dinner at Delfino’s. Of course, all the food was delectable, but the service we received made our anniversary night all the more memorable. Our waiter, Luis, was the most charming and sweet man, and John, the bartender, was just as amazing.

First, Luis brought out bread with olive oil and roasted garlic. Then, we ordered the Polpette, a meatball served with ricotta cheese and parmesan. Also, we chose that night’s special duck salad as another starter.

Finally, for our main course, we shared the 24oz Bistecca Fiorentina and the lighter portion of the Bucatini Carbonara. The steak was cooked to perfection, and I absolutely recommend it. So, call and make your dinner reservations well in advance.

Other Dining Options

Hammock Beach Resort Ocean Bar Cafe

Lastly, I want to mention a few other places available on property that we tried. Ocean Bar Cafe, next to the adults-only pool, was quick and delicious, and we ate lunch here daily. The wait staff is friendly and helpful and serves you poolside.

As for your morning coffee, stop by Beach Brew, where they have all the specialty coffees and some quick breakfast sandwiches or sweets. They are located in the main lobby. But keep in mind that they don’t open until 7am. I’m more of a 6am coffee fanatic, so that was a downer for me.

Hammock Beach Pizza & Gelato is open from 11am to 9pm. So, if you want an after-dinner dessert, rush on over for your gelato fix before 9pm. They will also deliver a pizza to your room if you’re going to stay in.

There is also a gastropub called Loggerheads Sports Pub, which is open until midnight. However, they stop serving food at 10pm. No reservations are needed.

Lastly, there is a lovely Lobby Bar that offers drinks, light snacks, and sweets.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, this post is all about Hammock Beach Resort Reviews and covers most amenities, restaurants, and offerings.

In our opinion, the positives include the massive pool complex, amazing dining, breathtaking views, and endless activity options. The negatives, while not many, were the outdated rooms and the fact that nothing really opens until 7 am and almost everything closes by 9 pm.

Above all, we will return to Hammock Beach Resort. Next time, we will go on this trip with the kids because we still need to try out the arcade, the putting course, and the included one-hour bicycle rentals.  And I want to stay in one of their larger main tower suites or condos.

Also, Hammock Beach partnered with Atventure Photography to offer a complimentary 45-minute photo session. So, we definitely need to update our family photos next time!
